About

Kevin Hirose

I'm a kinesiologist and strength coach in the Edmonton area, and I work on one thing: shoulders that have stopped getting better.

After more than fifteen years coaching, including as co-owner of APEX Strength and Conditioning in Richmond, BC, I kept seeing the same pattern. Someone injures a shoulder, does everything right, gets discharged from physio at about seventy percent, and then nobody owns what happens next. They're told to "stay active" with no idea what load is safe, so they avoid the movement that scares them, and a year later that avoidance has become the injury.

Rebuilt To Move closes that gap. I assess your shoulder in person for 75 to 90 minutes, build a program around what I actually find, and coach you through four months of progressive loading until you're doing the thing you stopped doing. Not managing it. Doing it.

I work alongside your physiotherapist or other health professional whenever you have one. I'm not replacing anybody's care. I'm the part that comes after it.

How I work

Three principles

01

Assess before you prescribe

Nobody gets a program before I've seen their shoulder move. Ninety minutes up front saves four months of guessing.

02

Load is the medicine

Shoulders don't get resilient by being protected. They get resilient by being loaded correctly, in the right order.

03

The goal is to not need me

Every program ends with a maintenance plan you can run yourself. After month four you have the tools and the techniques to keep improving your shoulder on your own.

Let's look at your shoulder.
